Recording & Setup

How do I set up my device for recording?

To ensure the best recording experience, follow these guidelines:
Enable Do Not Disturb: Notifications and phone calls can interrupt your session.
Check Battery Level: Make sure your device is sufficiently charged. Use Low Power Mode if needed.
Free Up Storage: At least 5GB of available storage is recommended for smooth recording.
Stabilize Your Device: Place your device on a tripod for best results.
Optimal Height & Positioning: Set the device about 3–5 feet high and ensure it has a clear, unobstructed view of the action.
Level Your Device: Use the in-app leveling technology to ensure your device is perfectly balanced before recording.
Position Players Correctly: Make sure each player is fully visible and centered within their designated perspective boxes.

How do I know what position to record from?

Choose the angle based on your throwing arm, batting side, and desired metrics. The camera should always face the players chest side.

What are the ideal recording conditions?

Good Lighting: Use well-lit environments, either indoors or outdoors, so movements are clearly visible.
Minimal Background Activity: Avoid busy or cluttered backgrounds to reduce interference with tracking.
Full Motion Visibility: Ensure the entire throwing or swing motion is fully in frame from start to finish.
Clear Field of View: Keep the camera unobstructed with no objects blocking the athlete.

Where can I use the app?

Athlete Den is designed for use during practice environments — Think batting practice, bullpens, and training sessions.
Our models are optimized to perform in both indoor and outdoor settings.
For best results, see our Ideal Recording Conditions section for setup recommendations.

Can you film vertically?

No, record horizontally to maintain data accuracy and video quality.

Can calls interrupt recording?

Yes. Turn on Do Not Disturb / Focus Mode to prevent interruptions.

Can I upload prerecorded footage?

Recordings must be done in-app to generate metrics. Right now we do not allow videos to be uploaded to your profile if they are not filmed in-app.

Technical & Compatibility

What devices does it work on?

Athlete Den supports iPhones running the latest iOS versions. iPhone 11 and newer, iOS 15.6 and above are recommended for best results.

What if my results are inaccurate or not showing?

If your recordings display inaccurate data or no data at all, try the following:
Recheck Setup: Make sure your device is properly leveled and all players are fully within their perspective boxes.
Review Recording Conditions: Ensure good lighting, a stable camera, and full motion visibility.
Recalibrate: Restart the calibration process to improve accuracy.
If the issue persists:
Report the Issue in App: Shake your device and tap “Send Feedback.”

Is video processed in real-time?

Video is processed on-device. Efficiency of processing is dependant on device memory and model.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is securely stored on your own device.

Accuracy & Data

How accurate is it?

Our models are continually trained and validated against benchmark systems to ensure reliable accuracy. In an era of AI-generated content and fabricated stats, Athlete Den ensures every metric is tied to real reps and verified with video creating accountability and accuracy you can trust.

Why do I get slightly different results?

Minor variation is normal due to hardware and AI probabilistic modeling, but accuracy remains within verified bounds.
